One of the hardest things for many people trying to live a healthier lifestyle is what to do in social situations when alcohol is available. As a society, we love our booze and it alcohol has become an integral part of many social gatherings and situations. So much so, that it is often deemed odd to not have a drink in hand and many of these events.

Have no fear – we have come up with several ‘mocktails’ that will ease the pressure to drink and allow you to enjoy a refreshing (and hydrating) beverage to boot – Cheers!

No-jito (aka Mint Lime Aide)
  • 1/4 cup loosely packed mint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of xylitol
  • 1 1/2 oz. lime juice
  • Soda water to fill glass.

In a sturdy glass muddle mint with xylitol. Add ice, lime juice and soda water. Stir well and enjoy.

Cucumber Water
  • 1 small English cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 2 quarts filtered water
  • Ice

Add the sliced cucumber to water and let chill in the refrigerator for one hour. You can also add orange, lime or grapefruit slices to change it up and add some flavors of summer.

Virgin Pina Colada
  • 1 cup of pineapple
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • Ice to blend/taste
  • ½ scoop vanilla protein powder

Put everything in the blender and blend to desired consistency.

Twists
  • 1/2 cup juice
  • 1 cup seltzer, club soda or sparkling water

Add ice, garnish of choice and serve in a beautiful glass – looks like a martini (sans alcohol).
