There are many factors that can contribute to estrogen dominance. This post will reveal some of the key factors that cause estrogen dominance and what we will discuss over this 3 part series. Estrogen dominance can be caused by one or several factors, including:
- Hormonal imbalance
- Hormone therapy
- Environmental estrogens and toxins
- Lifestyle choices
- Dietary imbalances
- Glandular dysfunction
Hormone Imbalance (Estrogens and Progesterone)
Existing hormonal imbalances that can lead to estrogen dominance typically do so either during the first decade or so of menstruation or during the years leading up to menopause. How this happens during these two phases of a woman’s life is very different. Part 2 of this series will cover estrogen dominance in the menstrual years, while Part 3 will cover how estrogen dominance can occur during perimenopause.
